I hope that I someday have the opportunity to do something as nice for you all as you have done for me today. I can get a hospital table and get rid of the unitasker once and for all. Reading all of these great blogs does cut into exercise time!

Ryan, that is an Apple wireless keyboard:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB167LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA1Mg&mco=MTQ0OTE

I think the only way a shorter user could use a 44" height desk surface would be to sit on a bar-height stool. Perhaps on a couple of phonebooks, too!

30" is standard table/desk height (seated work surface), 36" is standard for a standing work surface height and 42" for bar height -- which is not meant to be used as a working surface at all. So this super tall desk may be just right for this very tall user but I suspect would not be functional for anyone much shorter. I think it would hit me just under the chin, actually!

Tabitha,

I know how it goes :) I looked and looked for a reasonably priced standup desk tall enough, and I dreamt of some of the motorized sit/stand desks. But man they are expensive!

Hope he enjoys his IKEA desk, if only we had one of those here in the central midwest.

Ryan,

It is one of the new aluminum Apple Wireless Keyboards. I _love_ it, I moved to it from one of the wired ones, and before that a logitech G15. It's by far my favorite and I really feel like I write/code faster with it.

and some of my pictures of it here:

My husband, who's 6'8", will get a kick out of this. We had the hardest time finding him something big enough but not overpowering. We finally went with a large corner desk that wraps around the wall on either side from IKEA.

What keyboard is that?! I've been looking for a wireless keyboard that small. All the small keyboards i find add in a bunch of multimedia buttons at the top, which kind of defeats the purpose of making it small to begin with.

Funny, I'm standing at the kitchen counter with my laptop while looking at this. I'm only 5'1", so 36" is standing height for me.
I find that standing up helps limit how much time I spend at the computer. It's probably also better for my back (if not my arches.)
Here's some info about treadmill desks from the NY Times http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/18/health/nutrition/18fitness.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=treadmill%20desk&st=cse&oref=slogin
Now your treadmill isn't a unitasker anymore!
