Win a Dyson vacuum from Life and Style
Life and Style magazine dropped us a line to let us know that they’re giving away a Dyson Ball DC24 vacuum on their website this week. I’ve been curious about this model since it hit the market earlier this year. Instead of wheels, the DC24 moves on a giant ball. Supposedly, it makes maneuvering a breeze and allows you to easily sweep under furniture. I have hardwood floors and don’t have much use for a vacuum, so I hope that one of our Unclutterer readers wins this vacuum that has been retailing for $399.
Sign up for the drawing by clicking on the vacuum here, and be sure to come back to let us know if you win!

Just as an FYI – the Dyson has a bare floor mode that works like a dream on hard wood.

Thanks for the info… I already own the older Dyson upright for both carpet and bare floors, and absolutely LOVE IT. My dog chewed through the cord and I just taped it up and kept on going with it!
I love it more than any cleaning machine I have ever owned. It works as good as it claims and is easy to maintain.
(Ok is it sad that I can love a vacuum that much?)
Hope I win the Dyson Ball!!!

I would love to enter for this competition, but every time I do, I am inundated with spam. I guess that is what makes giving away something of value a great deal for the giver – access to tons of email addy’s

Kitkat4Real – I have a Dyson, and I love mine that much, too!
I also have hardwood, ceramic, and vinyl floors – some area rugs, but no carpets.
You can have my Dyson when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers!
I don’t think I’ll be entering this contest, though.

I have this vac -got a reconditioned one for about $110 2 years ago through woot.com. Best vac I ever owned bar none (gone through about 15 vacs in the previous 10 years)
I use it on hardwood/furniture/carpet/stairs/concrete (basement floor)…it works great!
The ball is cool – but the suction is what ROCKS!

“I have hardwood floors and don’t have much use for a vacuum.”
This isn’t true. Your floors will last much longer if you vacuum. Grit gets between the boards and causes wear.
Seriously, if you only sweep or wet-mop, once you try vacuuming regularly you’ll notice the difference.

I have the Dyson pet vac (the purple one) and it has been worth every penny. Yes, it has a bare floor option and I use that in the kitchen but it’s amazing on carpet. My Dyson vac was one of the best purchases I ever made.
Didn’t stop me from entering for this one. It pivots!

@Max — I should have said “upright vacuum.” I’ve had zero success using an upright on hardwood floors. Whenever I use an upright on hardwood floors stuff flies everywhere instead of into the vacuum. It pelts at your ankles. I just use an attachment at the end of a vacuum hose on a small canister unit.

@Erin
Ah, gotcha. We have a built-in, so we just have to get the hose out of the closet…

I was really excited about entering this contest but seems to be only open to US folks.

I just bought one 3 weeks ago. It’s awesome. The first time I used it I had to empty the cannister 4 times after vacumming my bedroom, bath, closet and short hallway. Needless to say, my old vacuum really sucked – or I should say it didn’t suck enough. I actually look forward to vacuuming now. I have hardwood and carpet FYI.

It should be noted that the contest is only open to US residents.

I’d love one
