Workspace of the Week: A back-to-school space
This week’s Workspace of the Week is Mamichan’s office in aqua and white:
The reason I chose this office this week is because it would be extremely practical for a student in a small space. The deep shelves (which I think are from Ikea) could hold the largest of books. The desk has a small, but satisfactory footprint with a pocket drawer/shelf for supplies. And, the cork board on the right could easily hold schedules, reminders, and inspiration. Thank you, Mamichan, for your submission and I hope it inspires a few students with school at the forefront of their minds!
Want to have your own workspace featured in Workspace of the Week? Submit a picture to the Unclutterer flickr pool. Check it out because we have a nice little community brewing there. Also, don’t forget that workspaces aren’t just desks. If you’re a cook, it’s a kitchen; if you’re a carpenter, it’s your workbench.

That shelf is the Lack shelf from Ikea (in case anyone was wondering!)

A little task lighting would be helpful. I am all about using enough light for my work.
Beautiful colors!

Lovely Robin’s Egg Blue! My work station is not much bigger and I have the same bookshelves (2 of them) stacked vertical, too! : )

Nice office. My dilemna with all these is the fact that I’m going to be buying a house (hopefully) or at least moving to an apartment within the next year and all the nice designs seem to be junky (particle board from Ikea) furniture.
I wonder if there are some quality alternatives to cheap furniture but still being practical and minimalist.

Cute. Not enough space for me, or even my 8 year old who enjoys spreading out. My wife, maybe.

If I can manage to keep the desk clean I’m sure it would be enough space
Then again, with a tiny desk, it would be more necessary to keep it clean- the danger with a big desk like mine is that things pile up on all sides except the tiny square where the laptop can sit
Thanks for the inspiration, I think this workspace- particularly the colours- is beautiful

My little office! Thanks for featuring it here
And yes, both the shelf and desk are from Ikea. The desk came with a hutch that went on top, but I liked it better without.

IKEA is fantastic. If you’ve never been to one I highly recommend you go. There’s one in Cincinnati Ohio that is pretty new.
