Workspace of the Week: Cube sweet cube

This week’s Workspace of the Week is Tiffany’s naturally lit cubical:

One of the reasons I like this cubicle is because it has a lot of personality and light in it. It’s organized, but it also looks like someone uses it. From the description on flickr:

The desk part is pretty bare; since I work with digital media, I rarely have occasion to collect paper in my cube, and that’s often the first thing new employees comment on when they come see me.

The fact that other people positively comment on her cube leads me to believe that this is how it looks on a regular basis. It’s efficient and fun. Thank you for submitting your cubicle’s photograph, Tiffany!

Want to have your own workspace featured in Workspace of the Week? Submit a picture to the Unclutterer flickr pool. Check it out because we have a nice little community brewing there. Also, don’t forget that workspaces aren’t just desks. If you’re a cook, it’s a kitchen; if you’re a carpenter, it’s your workbench.

I like the fact that is blue – I’ve never seen a cube that wasn’t gray.

That was my first thought, too! Love the blue walls. The natural light is a big plus.

I also love that it’s blue and not some boring color. It’s almost scary how clean and organized that cube looks!
There’s a collection of “Creative” cubicles on Ireport.com and they are pretty interesting: http://www.ireport.com/ir-topi.....Results=12

The blue is great! And nice to see a very tidy office that has some personal touches – photos, etc.

I’m in the process of moving my home office and I’d love to paint the walls of my new space a bright, cheery color!

I can agree that this cubicle is clean and friendly looking. But, do they actually do any work. There is no way my workspace could be so empty, except if I started a new job and took a picture during the first week of employment. My space is clean and organized, but I have way too much stuff needed in my daily work day to have such a minimal looking cubicle. I think they need more toys if they have all that space. It looks empty and kind of boring. 1 thumb up and 1 thumb down.

Looks like a cubicle to me, albeit a clean one. What am I missing?

Great light, and love the wall colors. I don’t like the stuff on the shelf (e.g. the doll/puppet, the animals, etc.), but if she finds it peaceful and a good work environment, kudos to her and her cute cube. =)

I manage my company’s website, steve. I don’t need a lot of “stuff” to do my job since all my job-related assets are stored on my hard drive or my server, and all the software media is locked up. Desktop supplies meant for managing paper (paper clips, staplers, tape dispenser) are stored in a desk drawer since I rarely use them. Reference materials are filed according to how often I need them- some are on a high shelf outside the edge of the picture, and some are in that rack in the corner.

Very nice! I’m surprised you don’t have more than one, or a bigger monitor though, Tiffany. My eyes and neck would get sore looking at that screen all day!
