So many people need an office in their homes these days. Many rooms need to serve as double duty. Seems like wall beds hidden in offices are growing in popularity. Enough space is always hard to come by.

OK, so I have to ask, Barb — how tall is “very tall”? I’m 6’2″ and my husband actually built me a desk so that it was tall enough for me to be comfy typing at it. We are also increasing the height throughout our kitchen counters, bathroom counters, etc. (s-l-o-w-l-y) so that we don’t feel like Gulliver when we’re chopping onions or washing hands.

To answer your questions – it’s just an old window. With the light wall colour behind it, it works well.

The fact that my dest is the first thing I see when I wake up in the morning is a huge incentive to keep things tidy.

And I’m very tall, so typing isn’t a problem for me.

I too am struggling with a bedroom office, resisting having it there, but realizing it’s the space that makes the most sense for now.

This is very nice – and so tidy! I think that’s half the battle, keeping a bedroom office tidy so you’re not looking at a pile of undone work.

This is a really nice space. I’ve been struggling with carving out a space in my small house, and though I have room in my bedroom, I’ve been resistant to working in my “rest space”. I need to take another look. I have a perfect corner that looks much like the one featured here, and right now it’s occupied by laundry…

Is it an old window frame around a dry erase board, or simply an old window attached to the wall? Window glass with a light backdrop is a really effective space for taking notes. And, depending how you acquire the window, virtually free. You may even be able to make use of an existing window in the room. I have used dry erase markers to write notes on the window in front of my desk.
