Nice and lean, but seems like you've devoted a lot of your home to workspace, for a Stuytown apartment ;-) You've got two bedrooms and a dining alcove but this room accounts for about a third of the apartment and almost all of the "public" space. Obviously it works for you and makes you happy, so kudos! Looking at the “before” pictures from your flickr stream, you’ve obviously done a lot of work made the space a gajillion times more practical.

I like the serenity of it all. I also love mid century modern furniture. Your office is also cool because it doesn't look like a typical office and because it reflects your personality. One suggestion, if you painted the far wall a color, the lamp in the space would pop out in the photo. I love the lamp, by the way. Very cool and artsy. As for $1200 for a desk, I paid around the same amount for mine and I love it. I have a laptop stored in the top drawer so it's not visible.
