Bringing in a pro: What professional organizers really want you to know

I want to start by saying that we are on the verge of launching the Real Simple widget on our site so that we won’t have to write these notifications as separate posts any longer. Look for it to go live tomorrow or Thursday. The amazing community manager at Real Simple set up a personal RSS feed for my writing, which makes the programming a breeze now. Three cheers for Melissa! And, three cheers for the awesome programmers at Unclutterer who are creating the widget. Woo hoo!

Today on Real Simple is an insider’s look at hiring a professional organizer. I had the joy of interviewing some power houses in the professional organizing community for this piece, and was blown away by their advice. It is very educational and I recommend you give it a look:

Good article. Does anyone do this in the UK? I would LOVE to be a professional unclutterer. I have much more sucess helping friends clear stuff out than sorting my own stuff!

Cool. I hope for those of us who have decluttered our digital life by subscribing via RSS will still get these even if they’re in a widget on the site? Not quite sure how that would work, which is why I ask. :)

In college I started my own business as both a closet organizer and an errand runner… I would do anything a personal assistant might do… any ideas on how I could get this sort of thing going now that I live in a big city? I get the feeling a lot of people would take advantage.

    Great article.

I don’t know if anyone else experienced this, but the font on the RS web page is murder to read. The typeface is just too tight, and, wel… cluttered.

It’s actually the single biggest reason I stopped going to the RS site.
