Cut down junk mail
An easy way to get rid of junk mail is to avoid it altogether. Here’s how to get off the mailing lists for credit card offers and other junk mailings.
Hey I think it’s great that you’re doing this “A year ago” posts. I haven’t been reading you for that long so it’s good to see some of the older stuff. Are you using a WordPress plugin to do this automatically or did you just do it manually?
Nice work! I’d love to get that script from you if you or even make it into a plugin! Ping me if you get a chance.
Oh, and to make my comments more relevant to the post, I didn’t know that you could opt-out your name from credit card offers and stuff. In fact, I didn’t even know that credit reporting bureaus were giving that information away. Seems kinda dirty now that I think about it, harvesting peoples information and all. Grr.

I just stumbled upon this website to help get rid of junkmail:
http://www.proquo.com/
Greendimes (http://www.greendimes.com/index.php) is also good, but proquo is free.

It’s not a plugin, but it’s not manual. I wrote a quick and dirty little PHP script to create the entries directly in the wp_posts table in WordPress.

The opt out site asks for your Social Security number. Is that really safe to give out online?
