I work on this part of the time. It's a floor based work station for writing or laptop. I also have a stand up work station called the Eco Desk. It has helped me to get organized by clutter clearing for the first time in my life. There's just not much room for stuff. I keep my files and books on lower shelves of the Eco Desk and use the upper shelves for placing things like you would use a standard desk. Uncluttered without being dismayingly stark. The one thing I don't like is having the monitors on the same wall as the windows - either your screen is backlit (blinds up) or the room is dark (blinds down).
