Workspace of the Week: Red room office

This week’s Workspace of the Week is UnimatrixZxero’s red room desk:

If you take a good look at the desk, you’ll see that there is a great amount of hardware on it. (I think there are three computers!) Even with all of the devices, though, it doesn’t look cluttered. The real beauty of the office, though, isn’t what can be seen. If you check out the second photo in the set, you’ll see the amazing cord control UnimatrixZxero has under the desk. I gasped at its glory. Bravo!

Want to have your own workspace featured in Workspace of the Week? Submit a picture to the Unclutterer flickr pool. Check it out because we have a nice little community brewing there. Also, don’t forget that workspaces aren’t just desks. If you’re a cook, it’s a kitchen; if you’re a carpenter, it’s your workbench.

Where does one find one of those huge cool looking mouse pads?

Gorgeous! There’s even 3 plants on that desk & it doesn’t look cluttered! Looks like a place one could sit hours and work & feel very comfortable. Very warm. Love it!

@Stephen: I assume it is a blotting pad. – Great workspace! Is this an IKEA Pöang chair?

Big props to that cable management. I bought velcro ties in attempts to manage my cables, but it’s just such a daunting task.

Wow, looks great!! The cable management is awe inspiring. My only concern would be that Charlie Brown tree… not very feng shui!!

Very nice! Loving the red color, might consider that for a bedroom color in future – nice and warm and comforting.

It’s just two computers by the way, a laptop and dual monitors for a PC. A setup i’m looking forward to having, once i have spare cash for a second monitor.

@Camilla … look behind the monitor on the left … I think there is a third, white laptop … craziness!

    First of all: I’m honored.

@stephen its a XTrac pad check out http://www.xtracpads.com And yes it’s an IKEA Poäng chair.

@Erin Dolan yes there is a white iBook in the back.

@sunsail The Charlie Brown tree went through a little drought when I was on vacation but it is recovering good, and I haven’t given up on him. I’ve had it for over 10 years now.

I’ve seen large mousepads like that at big box stores like Fry’s.

I actually use a large placemat that I found at IKEA that is of the same construction as a typical mousepad (foam bottom, slick plastic top) and cost about $2. It’s not even really necessary with an optical mouse, but I use it to protect the surface of my table from scratches.

Any chance of finding out what desk that is? I’m looking around for some and while most of these posts have nice looking desks, I have a hard time finding out exactly what they are so I can do some comparisons, etc.

    Thanks!

@smikwily — Just post a comment to the picture on the flickr site … the desk owner should answer you right away.
