I own the Ambient 7-Day Weather Forecaster, and I thoroughly enjoy having it around. I find myself referring to it multiple times daily - to quickly calculate what to wear before leaving the house and to make weather-related decisions on the fly. Plus, this is a beautifully-designed machine. I love the iconography.

Yes, weather (and stock) information are available almost everywhere else, but so is the time - and yet, we all own clocks.

You can track the market for free on your (computer) desktop with Yahoo Widgets (and there are probably dozens of other free sites you can do this on) - not only does this thing add to the desk clutter, but costs money and uses batteries too! I love your Unitaskers - check out this link: A gadget to remove egg shells from your boiled egg!

Actually, this would come in handy for someone I know who is neurotic about checking the market and has to turn on the TV or log into the internet several times a day to stay on top of it. If he could just glance at this thing on the desk or mouted on the fridge, it would actually save time and probably electricity as well.

I disagree with the classification of this as a unitasker. It fulfills no need and performs no real task. This is a NON-tasker.

Now, if you’re going to go Brookstone, be prepared: lots of posts and perhaps a lawyer on retainer.

does this really qualify as a “unitasker”? i mean, it gives stock quotes AND “provides amazingly accurate time”. i’ve never been amazed by the accuracy of a clock, but maybe now’s the time…
