Late to the comments, but… I have one of these roasters (is white) and I love it. I have had it for several years now, and it still sees use several times a month. It (presumably) uses far less energy than my conventional oven and also my toaster oven, otherwise I would be laughing at it, too.

@cendare — I flake off some of the outer skin, but not all. Then, I cut off the top of the head of garlic, which exposes most of the cloves. I generously pour olive oil over it all, wrap it in foil, and toss it in the oven. After cooking, the cloves easily squeeze out of their skins. Mmmmmmmmm …

What I would like to know is, do you peel the garlic cloves first before putting them into the foil? Or roast them with the peel on?

Love the blog.
I’m on a mission: “Tin Foil” isn’t tin – it’s aluminum.
I’m baffled about this common error because it hasn’t been tin since even before our parents were children.

My aunt gave me a garlic roaster when I was either in Junior High or High School. It immediately went into my mother’s kitchen cupboards and I have never seen it since. I should ask my mother during which move she gave it to Goodwill.
