Workspace of the Week: Clutter-free cables

This week’s Workspace of the Week is Marchandc’s cable controlled workspace:

I like this space because of Marchandc’s attention to details: the homemade desk, the beautifully controlled cables, and the efficiency of the printer stand. The space is personalized, functional, and orderly. I feel more productive just looking at the photos!

Want to have your own workspace featured in Workspace of the Week? Submit a picture to the Unclutterer flickr pool. Check it out because we have a nice little community brewing there. Also, don’t forget that workspaces aren’t just desks. If you’re a cook, it’s a kitchen; if you’re a carpenter, it’s your workbench.

    I like this workspace a lot. Why is there a monitor on the desk next to the laptop?

    Looks like it’s a dual-monitor setup. Very nice to have.

    Thanks for the nice comments. AJ is right, I have a dual monitor setup. My powerbook was ready for it out of the box and I had an old 15″ monitor gathering dust. Now I can have a few programs running at once and see them all.

    My boss just recently did this using velcro to hold up the power strips. But my question is, what do you do if many of your cables have those annoying transformers on them, which are huge and run hot? Suggestions?

    Nice desk. I got a desktop from work (I work at at Art Museum. The desktop was in the dumpster. Museums throw away a lot of useful things) now I just need some legs.

    Hey Chris, lovely workspace. Though your PowerBook has two built-in calculators– the Calculator app and the Calculator widget. Why do you need a separate calculator on the desk?

    @Eric
    I guess I just prefer the calculator, I must be old fashioned at the ripe old age of 25

    Nice ..this picture gave me an idea how my next workspace will look like. I really need a place to stick stuff, and see them all day like in this picture. Thanks !
