This set up works great, in my opinion, for opening up space on the left side. I find that I have a similar setup at home ... everything's on the left hand side of my desk because I'm right handed and need the right side of my desk to remain clear for writing and such. Having the papers within easy reach is, in a way, more organized than having to reach down/walk to another storage area whenever you need something. Plus, there's a place on the wall to hang headphones - eliminating cord clutter. OCD much? Geez, people. It’s not a “pile of crap” – there’s useful stuff there.
