Save on Leopard for your Mac

We know that a good proportion of our daily readers are Mac users, so we thought that we would pass along the following savings advice. Amazon has cut the pre-order price of the Leopard operating system, scheduled for shipping on October 26, from $129 to $109 for single-users. Additionally, the pre-order rate comes with free shipping and a lowest price guarantee: “Order now and if the Amazon.com price decreases between your order time and release date, you’ll receive the lowest price.”

You can pre-order Leopard here.

Leopard looks to be a faster option than Tiger, and it comes with the clutter-alleviating program Spaces. Spaces allows users to group “application windows and banish clutter completely. Leopard gives you a space for everything and makes it easy to switch between your spaces.”

Pitter patter, Leopard. Pitter patter.

Don’t forget to let readers know that if they purchased their mac after oct. 1st apple will give them the new OS for 9.99. Its “free” but the $10 is to send it to you, etc…we’ll just call it $9.99. (learned over at fatwallet)

It’s also probably polite to disclose that you’ll be getting a cut from any sales through your ‘pre-order’ link, too. :)

Alternatively, you could always install Ubuntu or Linux and get “Spaces” for free. It’s been around for ages on both of those operating systems.

@Al — We’ve covered this issue a number of times on the blog. ALL Amazon links are affiliate links. If you want to help support our site, then we truly appreciate your commitment to helping us through your purchase.

While I think it’s licit that you use your affiliate program to get some Amazon comission on “declutter stuff”, I wouldn’t like you to begin doing posts advertising unrelated stuff (maybe there are better ways like banners).

And the excuse that many of us use Mac, is very poor!

Too bad I got my new iMac on Sept 28.

Same day I got my MacBook Pro. Ah well. XP + Fusion is going to cost me more than the OSX upgrade…

There’s nothing wrong with this or any other site using it’s affiliate program to gain some revenue. The Mac post is in line with the one of the purposes of this site, and the authors are not just willy-nilly posting money-making links in their posts. Plus, it’s not like anyone is gonna get rich off affiliate programs. Or mislead their readers just because they include an affiliate link. So lighten up. There are much bigger things to deal with than a positive site trying to gain a little revenue for the hard work put into keeping the site going.

Please also note that if you have more than one Apple computer in your household, it’s cheaper to get the family Pack (five licenses for around $189).
