That is even more odd than the bacon press someone gave me. I never knew my bacon needed pressing and I didn’t know my steaks needed an ID tag either.

While a monogram brand isn’t for most people, I have to say that branded steaks aren’t something that I haven’t been exposed to…

Growing up in ranchland, it was common practice to brand steaks at a bar-b-q the evening after a cattle drive. Of course, these people already use the brand on their cattle, and happen to have it handy.

On the other hand, I operate a laser engraving machine at work, and on the chart of commonly engraved materials is steak. Turns out that create custom grill marks (for valentines dinners) and even burn in the chef’s signature with a laser engraver. Of course, fancy grill marks w/text and artwork is the difference between a sizzler steak and a gourmet steak that costs many times more.

Well, I couldn’t imagine ever buying a WS brand, but as a diehard ASU football fan, I have to ready admit that I own an ASU brand for tailgating.

And you’ll never pry it from my hands.

It’s of course a luxury (and a free gift), but is nonetheless quite cool to whip out during the Saturday afternoon tailgate. And it works better on the hamburger bun than the actual burger.

Matt — I’ve been waiting for unclutterer to post this one…I saw it in the WS catalog that was sent to me (more clutter - the random mail that seems to appear without being requested) and pointed it out to my husband.

I say, if you really want to brand your meat, get out a knife and carve your initials in…or attach a tag when it is done.
