<description>I think that the happy medium here would be Final Scratch.

<description>I have tried the iDJ2 and I have to say I was very disappointed. No serious DJ will take this toy seriously. I have tried all sorts of digital players, but I have never found a control surface that can match the vinyl on a high torque direct drive turntable.

In my opinion, a much better contender for a minimal clutter DJ setup would be a Denon DNS-3500 and a small mixer. It has a motorized platter to simulate vinyl and the encoder is accurate enough that you can even scratch on it. You can burn a whole crate of tracks onto one CDR. And because it can play 2 different tracks at the same time, you can play a whole set using just one deck.

I wish someone would make something like the 3500 that was just a USB control surface for a laptop. That would rock.
