Depending on how large your printer is, you can have that effect today using any number of small end-tables, telephone tables, or nightstands. Inspired by this article I went to the housewares section of Target instead of the office supply section of Staples and found a nice end table that did the job -- and even included a nice size drawer for extra paper. It's not as snazzy looking as this table, but it gets the printer out of the way.

On a similar note using a small ( 1 file wide 2 tall ) cabinet and throw a table cloth over it. This allowed us to bring the cabinet out of hiding and put other items on top. Most people don't even know it's there.
