I agree. Paper towels are clutter. I keep a drawer full of bar towels and wash them once a week. Same goes for napkins. I’ve mounted a wire laundry basket to the wall beside my washing machine, so dirty kitchen linens get tossed there right away. Whew, less kitchen clutter.

HOWEVER, the tone of the announcer’s voice in the YouTube video almost broke my heart, especially at the end when he says “…at home.” I wanted to buy the daggum dispenser just to make him happier.

that’s why they invented the microfiber towel so we will stop using paper towels, we will stop cutting trees and hopefully soil erosion then global warming then flash floods then maybe just maybe we will be happy……

The sound the motor makes is so relaxing…wait till the kids get a hold of that 6am Sunday. And is the dental office waiting room soundtrack necessary?

Matty13 – you’re right, I can smell the mold from here. That was the cleanest spot in that Chinese factory to shoot a video?

I appreciate how the narrator says it will “save paper” as the model continues to rip and toss sheet after sheet.

This must be Paper Towel Week in the wonderful world of useless consumerism.

I saw a TV ad that was NOT sarcastically constructed not placed; it was entirely serious. The product was a huge metal overdoor box that stores and dispenses entire paper towel rolls.

You know instantly when you see this object why you “need” it. Otherwise your three-car garage would be overwhelmed by a tsunami of paper towel rolls you bought to “save money” at the Big Box Store and are not well organized enough to store in the aggregate–as a coffee table, room divider, or true-to-size model of Buckingham Palace.

What, exactly, is wrong with us? Why not buy paper towels in packs of two 2) at the regular grocery store and GET A LIFE!

Now if it only had a print-head, it could save you the trouble of getting printed paper-towels. It could print your own favorite pattern to match your decor. Never again spend hours looking for the right roll of paper-towels, just download your favorite .GIF image and make your own roll on demand. Changing the decor of your kitchen? No need to waste the remainder of your unmatched roll of paper-towels! Just change the printed image on the fly!

It should also come with an optional kid-mess-detector add-on that (so you can store the part with all your batteries and other gadget accouterments), when your toddler spills the carton of milk on the kitchen floor, it start ejecting wads and wads of paper in the general direction of the mess.

Or I could just keep using my $5 under-the-counter mounted paper-towel holder that uses no counter space and no batteries.

I always mount my paper towels under cabinets or on the wall, so this instantly takes up Way Too Much Counter Space.

Sure it’s way overkill for the function, but does this actually cause much clutter? Everyone has a place to put their paper towels anyway, and this gadget doesn’t look much bigger than a bare roll, or one of those wooden dispensers.
