The end of the chip-clip
I don’t know how I found this, but it’s very clever. The chip bag clip is a unitasker I don’t resent too much because chips go stale easily and it saves us from having to transfer them to another container. I personally use binder clips that I also use for papers. My mom uses clothespins. But after this, maybe we won’t need either.

Actually, we use the clips for a lot of things in our kitchen: chips (nacho type for our Mexican dinners), the milk bag (keeps a bag of milk fresher longer in our fridge), any food that comes in a box and an internal bag, like specialty crackers (we toss the box and clip the bag), frozen bagged goods (bags of perogies, vegetables, knockwurst, berries…).
So, in our house, we just couldn’t live without our clips.

You’d think they’d add something to the chip bags to close them.

that’s how i used to roll my pants up (pegging) in the 7th grade…

That only works when you have enough of the bag to roll tightly. Chip clips will live forever!

I use binder clips, too. We also put several bags to a clip whenever we can.

How odd! I JUST blogged about chip clips. (((cue Twilight Zone theme music))) I do use the chip clips but got crazy tired of chasing them all over the countertop, so I figured out a simple solution, which is what I wrote about a few days ago. I like the special rolling technique, but honestly, now that my chip clips are organized, I doubt I’d take the time or effort to roll a bag like that.

Like others, I use clips all the time — so many things come in plastic bags — not foil, for which this trick is suitable. I wouldn’t call clips unitaskers at all.

If you don’t have enough room to ‘peg’ the bag or if the bag is made out of that annoying silver-plastic stuff that doesn’t fold well, just use a piece of tape. One tiny piece does it for the bag.

I’m with you on the binder clip solution; I keep a box of those in the kitchen and the office, and I can use them for whatever. They’re also much stronger than any “chip clip” I’ve ever used.

you could just have a piece of fruit.
health benefits, environmentally friendlier.

I use wooden clothespins on all my bags (bread, chips, etc. For a wider bag use two pins. For a soft bag like bread, twist and pin.
