For a lower cost alternative ($30)The Omega Paw roll and clean box is pretty great. Amazon has it, 4.5 stars.

There is no bloody way I would subject my poor kitty to this machine. Not only would she destroy it out of spite of me, I would be next on her hit list.

toilet-training a cat is by no means easy. it took a year of scrupulous discipline to accomplish this, and another year to be sure the cats didn't mess up.

Lauren -- Both cats use a single Litter Robot. I don't know why you would need two unless your cats are **very** fussy about sharing a litter box.

You can do even better than this with a CatGenie. I've had one for my two cats now for about eight months. It uses water to flush, believe it or not. I don't think I can possibly explain how it works here, but it's great for the environment and you'll never buy clay litter again. Google it.

PJ, Do you have just 1 robot for your 2 cats? And if so, has that worked for you?
We have a 2-cat household, wondering if we'd need 2 robots or not.

Things like this are great if you can't get your cat to be toilet trained (yes, it's possible and I highly suggest it). In the new enviromental age, can this be used with corncob litter? How about fireplace pellets?
I think I'll go for the toilet training myself... Just google it and read through a few different tutorials - there's one with phone books in the steps that I highly recommend (I don't have the link at the moment, and googling is easy for anyone).

cat shit isn't clutter, it's filth. big difference. Cat toys and fancy high-dollar accessories for said cats all through the house, that's clutter.

I think the difference in the average Amazon review ratings should be noted. The Litter Robot averages 5.5 stars (out of six) while the Stylette only gets 2.5. Just something to consider. But the Stylette might be a good fit if your cat has issues with the Litter Robot.

The price of the one I have has dropped considerably since I bought it a year ago for $123 at PetSmart, but it's been great. The Stylette Littersweep and it doesn't have the problems mentioned above about the "cats need to see" thing. It's a lot better than most, and while you still need to scoop it if the receptacle gets a bit too full, if you use the right litter you can ignore it for weeks (except emptying the baggie). It takes up more room, than the one you linked, but works really well, and is a lot cheaper.

Rae -- If your cats don't like it you can just return it. As the post says, they have a 60 day money-back guarantee. I have two cats who have been happily using it for the last two years. It's wonderful.

These really aren't great for cats. I'm always surprised to hear of one who seems to like going in it. Cats feel naturally vulnerable when they are using their box and really like to be able to see 360 degrees around them. If you have multiple cats, or any dominance issues, I wouldn't even bother with this. There are many reasons not to do this, and if it doesn't work for your cat's taste? More clutter - because how do you get rid of a "used" litter box?

Sorry, but my cat is in my MeBox at the moment. I spose when I go through my annual MeBox-emptying, I'll consider this contraption.

Unless I decide to toss Fluffy.
