Craigslist.org also has a whole free section where you can list the stuff you want to give away.

I've also found Freecycle to be a wonderful resource for getting rid of things that just don't seem like thrift store donations. I've used Freecycle to find new homes for two books of fabric samples, a set of motivational tapes (with two missing), a pin-the-tail-on-Michelangelo's-David poster/game, an airplane-shaped alarm clock (battery-operated, too noisy for my guest room, but perfect for someone else's airplane-themed bathroom) - and much more, for both myself and my clients.

Right on! I love Freecycle, it helps me rid of unnecessary items and give back to the community. I also came across this site http://www.gigoit.org/ via treehugger.com
